Brand Name : ITMOL-M SUSPENSION

Packing : 60 ML

Composition : Mefanamic Acid + Paracetamol Suspension | ITMOL-M

Description

Mefenamic Acid + Paracetamol Suspension is available with the branding “ITMOL-M” and is applied in treating pain, inflammation, migraine headache, menstrual pain, excessive menstrual bleeding, muscle discomfort, toothache, joint pain, postoperative pain, earache, fever, influenza, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Pain is a symptom that is initiated by the nervous system, leading to unpleasant feelings in the body.

Mefenamic Acid + Paracetamol Suspension consists of two medications, Mefenamic acid and Paracetamol. Mefenamic Acid+paracetamol prevents the action of a chemical messenger called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that creates other chemicals called prostaglandins. By preventing the action of COX enzymes, less number of prostaglandins are formed. It prevents mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the damaged or injured area.

Uses of Mefenamic Acid + Paracetamol Suspension

  • Pain Relief: It is also used to relieve mild to severe pain, such as headaches, dental discomfort, and muscle pain.
  • Menstrual Pain Relief: It is often prescribed to alleviate dysmenorrhea, or painful menstrual cramps, to ease discomfort during menstruation.
  • Fever Reduction: It may also be effective in reducing fever, making it an appropriate drug to treat feverish diseases caused by certain infections.
  • Post-Operative Pain Management: It can be used to alleviate pain after surgery, making it easier for patients to heal.
  • Management of Inflammatory Diseases: It can be used to treat inflammation as well as pain from conditions such as arthritis or other inflammatory diseases.

Medical Benefits

  • This drug is employed in the management of pain, inflammation, headache (migraine), menstrual pain, excessive menstrual bleeding, muscle ache, toothache, arthralgia, postoperative pain, earache, fever, influenza, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • It inhibits the action of a chemical messenger called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that synthesises another chemical, prostaglandin.
  • Prostaglandins are generated in the areas of injury and lead to pain and inflammation.
  • The action of COX enzymes is blocked, and consequently, fewer prostaglandins are formed. This reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the site of injury or damage.

Yes, it may be used to ease toothache or gum soreness, particularly during teething, but only if a doctor has prescribed it.

Will it relieve cold and flu symptoms?

It may relieve body pain and fever with cold or flu, but it won't cure the virus. It provides short-term relief.
